ELAINE P. DE GUZMAN obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines in 2013 and was admitted to the Bar in 2014. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the Bicol University in Legazpi City in 2007.

Prior to joining FMH, Ms. de Guzman worked as a Tax Supervisor in one of the Big 4 internationally-affiliated audit firms. As a member of the Taxation, Corporate, Commercial & Finance practice groups of the Firm, Ms. de Guzman represents clients in administrative and judicial protests of tax assessments before the Court of Tax Appeals and assists multinational and local clients in corporate tax structuring, providing tax advisory, and application for tax rulings. She has substantial experience in the drafting and review of commercial contracts and conduct of legal due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. She also handles corporate secretarial work and supervision of registrations with various government agencies.

Ms. De Guzman is also a member of the Energy, Aviation, and Mining practice group and she provides support to the commercial arbitration team and the PPP practice group. She has written several articles published in The Philippine Star on topics relating to tax and corporate laws.
