TRINA D. SINGSON holds two Masters Degrees - MA in International and Business Law from the Yokohama National University, Japan in 2011 and MA in Industrial Relations, 2003 from the University of the Philippines. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1997 and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1992 both from the University of the Philippines. In December 2017, Ms. Singson became one of the first, if not the first, to be qualified by the IAPP as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) in the Philippines.
Before embarking in data privacy practice, she headed the Secretariat of the Bids and Awards Committee of a Metro Manila city. She has extensive experience in judicial research having worked with the Court of Appeals as a Court Attorney for 15 years. She has wide exposure in government service having worked with the National Amnesty Commission and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. To further her data privacy competency, she attended data privacy seminars including the “Asia Privacy Forum 2017” held at Marina Bay Sands, Sand Expo and Convention Center in Singapore and obtained trainings for Data Privacy Officer and Certified Information Privacy Managers (CIPM) of the IAPP conducted by Straits Interactive Pte Ltd. She also attended the recently concluded GDPR Training in Singapore.
